Twin Books.

I have taken this weekend to educate myself about twin pregnancy.  I went to B&N and got 2 books…

When You’re Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads

Twins! Pregnancy, Birth and the First Year of Life

Are there any other books that anyone recommends?  I would like to find one about breatfeeding twins, but B&N did not have it.  I have already gotten good info on nutrition from the first one listed…it gave me great suggestions for protein and they actually sounded good.

  1. Not sure about a book for breastfeeding but one of the reasons we chose Capital Pediatrics is because they have a GREAT lactation consultant on staff! And I love the books Baby 411, Toddler 411…best sellers written by one of the drs at Cap. Pedi.
    Hope you are feeling well!

  2. Sorry, no recommendations since I haven’t made it that far, but just wishing you the best of luck with all that double trouble 🙂
    hope you’re feeling good!

  3. I bought the first book and I really like it. Don’t freak out about how much weight you should gain, but the guidelines give you leeway if you start to question how much you are gaining. Most likely it will be in the recommendations. We have to gain our weight up front as gaining later in pregnancy will be harder.

  4. I spent $60 on the nursing book from La Leche League. It does talk about nursing multiples in there, but was a great reference book too. I would warn you that is is more information than you might ever need because it is used for training lactation consultants, but I swear I went through every chapter at least once. Between that book and my lacatation specialist (Get a good one!!) that was all I needed.

  5. I read those 2 and a few others that I can’t remember – so that tells you how influential they were! I felt that they all said the same thing. I also referred to the famous “What to expect when you’re expecting…” Honestly, there were a million books next to my bed at any time. All had been passed down by someone and I never read one of them cover to cover. I felt stressed thinking that I had to read all of them, and really, the 2 you mention were my main ones that I read as I approached a new week/trimester or whatever. If I come across something I think you gotta have, I’ll send you a note!
